Ryan Emberley is a writer, television producer, and reporter based in Toronto, Canada.
A graduate of Ryerson University’s School of Journalism, Ryan has a keen eye for everything entertainment. Fittingly, he has worked with Entertainment Tonight Canada and the E! channel.
Ryan began with E! as a writer/producer for the network’s E! Flash news segments, and then moved over to become a story producer and head writer of E! News Weekend. Ryan also wrote, produced and directed a half-hour special titled, Top 10 Secrets of the Stars.
Ryan has interviewed, annoyed and cavorted with a diverse array of celebrities ranging from Verne Troyer to Shaquille O’Neal … Get it? It’s a height thing.
On a constant quest for killer quotes, Ryan conducted a now infamous interview with Pamela Anderson that became a global viral sensation. The interview was featured and discussed on Fox News, NBC, E!, Perez Hilton, and publications all around the world.
Ryan has also stepped into a variety of roles at large-scale events and awards shows, making use of his background in public relations and event management. In both PR and production capacities, Ryan has worked with The Toronto International Film Festival, The Much Music Video Awards, The Gemini Awards, The Genie Awards, Canadian Music Week’s Industry Awards and The Santa Claus Parade.
Despite his old-man-inspired contempt for most things hip and newfangled, Ryan is an avid contributor to the epidemic of online thought-sharing. He has blogged for eonline.com and written/reported for andPOP.com. His quirky sense of humour and willingness to challenge mainstream ideas has always lent itself to healthy controversy.
